“Better an egg today than a hen tomorrow” is one of our favourite proverbs. Today, however, we won't be dealing with chickens, we'll be talking about eggs by exploring four tasty ways to prepare them. Let's find out together 4 recipes with organic eggs (of course!).
Just one omelette? Why settle for it?
Let's start from a great classic, a simple recipe that everyone can make: the omelette. However, we don’t settle for the basic preparation, but we want more. For example? Adding some ingredients so to enrich the dish with flavour.
A bit of leek cut into rings, some minced onion or potatoes may be enough, other times the right touch is born thanks to the combination of asparagus and mushrooms. Even an omelette with peas and diced cooked ham is no joke as a tasty and regenerating dinner.
Do you prefer the taste of seasonal fruit and vegetables? Excellent choice! These ingredients go very well with organic eggs (as long as they are organic too). Broccoli in winter, aubergines in summer, artichokes in spring, tomatoes are a tasty choice for your omelettes.
Let's move on to the more “important” ingredients. Have you ever tried an omelette with shrimps and courgettes? All you have to do is turn on the stove and start cooking. We guarantee for it! The omelette with organic chicken sausage is also a fantastic solution for an energy-rich dish. It is easily prepared: first cook the finely minced sausage and then add the egg. Et voilà !
An original main course
Which main course can be made with egg and chicken meat? We tried to give an answer with a dish we liked a lot: chicken with cacio cheese, egg and peas. The preparation is simple: cook the chicken in a frying pan with the peas and then, towards the end, add a tasty mirepoix obtained from the eggs, grated pecorino cheese, parsley and minced thyme. A must-try dish!
Let's get down to business
The hard-boiled egg is the easiest and quickest dish to prepare. It requires only the right amount of cooking time for the egg to cook.
Once cooked, you can enjoy it with a delicious tuna sauce, tartar sauce (mayonnaise-based with an addition of minced cucumber, capers, onion or chives), pink, tomato or super spicy sauce. The important thing is not to try them all at once.
The barbecue sauce with a touch of curry is also an excellent alternative. Of course, in Germany they enjoy this sauce with sausages, but it's a good level of taste with eggs too.
The egg in sweet company
How many friends does the egg have? A lot. Not by chance it is an ingredient similar to the colour black, it goes well with everything. You can try it in a vegetable salad and in that with spelt or quinoa, in Cantonese rice and also gently cuddled by bread.
When the egg becomes the faithful companion of the hamburger, for example, the culinary result is terrific. As in the case of our burger with turnip greens, provolone cheese and egg..
