Fileni has put environmental sustainability as a central item of its activity, to which dedicate human and technological resources in the attempt to create a more and more sensitive and responsible supply chain.
From ecological and biodegradable packaging, to the commitment to purchase, where possible, energy coming from renewable sources. Part of Fileni's energy needs are guaranteed by its own photovoltaic and cogeneration plants. Furthermore, production plants conceived or adapted so to help reduce the environmental impact of production processes are used, with the view of a future in which it is possible to eliminate every harmful emission along the supply chain.
Precisely in these last days, Fileni has taken a further important step forward in defence of the environment, laying down the foundations for a real change at a global level. The enterprise has become part of an intersectoral community made of brands and organisations that work together to achieve a 'zero-emission' productivity by 2040. This project takes the name of Climate Pledge and has been co-founded by Amazon and Global Optimism in 2019 to reply in a strong and cohesive manner to the climate crisis we are living.
Each signatory enterprise will have to commit to:
- regularly measure and report greenhouse gas emissions;
- implementing decarbonisation strategies in line with the Paris Agreement, through real business changes and innovations, including efficiency improvements, renewable energy;
- neutralising eventual remaining emissions with further quantifiable, real, permanent and socially beneficial offsets so to reach net carbon emissions equal to zero by 2040.
The actions of individuals are important, but only the strength of the community, through a common commitment, will help to overcome this period of ecological crisis. Fileni is going to put its maximum effort so to this goal and is going to share the small and big milestones achieved, which are going to bring the enterprise closer to a "zero emissions" productivity.
Stay tuned!
